I've noticed that people usually leave large, unwanted items such as patio tables or bookshelves disassembled in the garbage room. Even worse, just yesterday I noticed someone had put a printer into the garbage disposal which generated a burning smell and an awful noise as the compactor tried to process the plastic.
I was wondering if it would be possible for interested residents to pool together some funds to arrange for a company to pick up items that are better suited for the dump (rather than thrift shops or our garbage compactor). I understand that most people don't have proper vehicles, enough time, or enough items to warrant making a trip to the dump themselves. I thought that a group effort, maybe every two months or something, would be a smart solution.
I am interested in hearing your thoughts and comments regarding whether you think this idea is feasible, and whether you think that enough support would exist for this type of initiative.
